Colin is the chief instructor of the club and is a direct student of Head Master Hajime Hayabuchi 16th Soke of Araki Muninsai Ryu Iaido, Kobe Japan. He is one of Soke's most senior students world wide.

Colin has been practising Iaido since 1981 and teaching since 1985. He is also the Head Master of Shuho Jujitsu Ryu and holds an 8th Dan in Jujitsu.
